Current consultation on the regulation of digital currency in Pakistan: PM Shahbaz

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced that consultations are continuing concerning the regulation of digital currency in Pakistan.

The declaration was made at a meeting of the Economic Advisory Council, which was chaired by the Prime Minister and assisted by various members of the Council.

Participants expressed their confidence in government policies and provided future growth suggestions, which were welcomed by the Prime Minister.

In his speech, Prime Minister Sharif stressed that economic stability is a collective effort, not the work of a person. He reiterated government’s commitment to sustainable economic development and highlighted efforts to promote trade in the region.

The Prime Minister said that the government aims to improve the competitiveness of local industries on international markets, emphasizing the stimulation of exports and job creation. He also mentioned initiatives aimed at establishing green data centers and improving telecommunications services, especially in distant areas, in order to increase computer exports and the number of freelancers.

The Prime Minister also underlined the current efforts to regulate digital currency in Pakistan and expressed the importance of transforming today’s discussions into usable plans.

During the meeting, the participants congratulated the government’s economic measures, noting that the country’s economy is stable and evolves towards growth. They stressed that price stability has led to an increase in production and that the government’s action plan is recognized by global economic institutions, investors and the business world.

They also appreciated the government’s commitment to institutional reforms and improvements in the tax system, which favored an environment more favorable to businesses.

The meeting also underlined an increase in exports in a month, which participants considered as a positive indicator of the economic recovery. In addition, the repression of smuggling has been considered to contribute to export growth.

The meeting attended several eminent personalities, including Jahangir Khan Tareen, Saqib Shirazi, Shehzad Saleem, and several federal ministers, including Ahsan Iqbal and Rana Tanveer Hussain.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sharif met with a Bahrainian parliamentary delegation of 11 members led by Ahmed Bin Salman al-Musallam, president of the Bahrain Representatives’ Council.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister extended an invitation to Bahrainian investors to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, emphasizing strong bilateral links between the two nations. He also responded to his best wishes to the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations.
