Dame Diamer-Basha now an absolute priority

Friday, the government decided to carry out its plan to present a budget exercise 2025-2010 in its own right in the midst of a suggestion to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to unveil a short-term budget and also obtain provincial contributions to respond to increased defense expenses.

On Friday, participants in a budget preparation meeting also urged the government to allocate substantial funds to national defense and accelerate the completion of the Diamer-Basha dam, citing India’s decision to hold the Water Treaty in the pending.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister also asked the Federal Board of Revenue to impose income from the Islamabad club, which is the leisure center for the country’s bureaucrats, foreign diplomats and the richest people in the company.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif did not immediately share his mind on the proposal. The Constitution provides a room to give a budget of four months. But an official of the Ministry of Finance said that the government’s plan to present the entire budget for the year 2025-266 has remained intact.

The Ministry of Finance has assured all of the resources to deal with the situation of the conflicts created by India and has proposed at least 18% increase in the allowance for the next financial year compared to this year’s expenses.

There was also a proposal in the meeting that the government should freeze the development budget for the next year at the actual spending this year, which will not exceed 600 billion rupees due to low spending so far.

The sources said that some members of the cabinet also suggested giving maximum money for the completion of the Diamer-Basha dam so that the tank is completed as soon as possible to store water.

Participants urged to build enough exchange reserves to meet unexpected import needs during tension hours.

One of the richest people in Pakistan suggested to the Prime Minister to reduce government swollen size. Participants in the private sector also asked the PM to reduce textile export taxes and also suspend the export development supplement collected from exporters.

One of the participants urged the government to prohibit economic transactions by non-sequences, in particular the ban on cereal trading by them.

An official press release stressed that the Prime Minister said that the accusation of rescue to the ordinary man in the upcoming budget was the priority of the government, and that total resources will be used to reduce the financial difficulties of the poor and the middle class.

The Prime Minister has ordered that the coming budget be prepared by emphasizing the sustainable growth focused on exports and considering projects aimed at promoting industries and increasing production. The budget should also be largely focused on creating jobs, agriculture, information technologies, small and medium -sized businesses and the housing sector, said Sharif.
