Danish university to operate independently

Islamabad:

A meeting held Tuesday to discuss the legal framework of the Danish University concluded that it would be an autonomous institution, managed independently of the government, emphasizing research, development and applied sciences.

The meeting was convened on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and was chaired by the Azam Nazeer Tarar law. The president of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) followed.

The discussions included the creation of an endowment fund to provide quality education and internationally recognized for talented students encountered by financial difficulties. Participants reaffirmed the university accent on research, development and applied sciences.

Tarar stressed that the university would be an autonomous institution, managed independently of the government, adding that its legal structure would be developed on modern lines to align with the standards of the best universities in the world.

“Successful educational models from around the world are being examined to shape the Danish University in a competitive global institution. A full legal framework is being developed to create an ideal academic environment for future students,” said an official document.

According to the document, the Minister of Law said that all legal and administrative aspects are carefully examined before finalizing the framework as soon as possible, ensuring the rapid implementation of this initiative.
