Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar spoke with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on Monday evening to discuss recent developments in the Middle East, according to an article published on X by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the message, “they exchanged views on developments in the Middle East and the wider region, expressing deep concern over recent attacks, particularly in Bahrain.”

Dar reiterated Pakistan’s support for Bahrain and its citizens, emphasizing the importance of de-escalation, dialogue and initiatives to promote regional peace and stability.

The call followed an Iranian drone attack on Bahrain’s Sitra island, injuring 32 people overnight, as Gulf countries reported further attacks and Tehran stepped up retaliatory strikes in the region.

All of the injured were Bahraini citizens, and there were four “serious cases”, including children, the Health Ministry said in a statement carried by the official news agency.
