Dar urges a stronger Oic-One partnership to promote world peace, tolerance

Darrier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar called to strengthen the partnership between the organization of Islamic cooperation and the United Nations to promote a culture of peace and tolerance in a world spoiled by conflicts.

Speaking during the organization of Islamic cooperation (OCI) on peace and tolerance, held in New York to commemorate the 1500th anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prophet (PSL), he stressed that this partnership should prioritize the Interfait -Home promotion and intercultural dialogue, the safeguarding of sacred sites and religious symbols, and groups together terrorism.

He also underlined the importance of mobilizing humanitarian support – including through mechanisms such as Zakat and Waqf – while highlighting the need to empower women and young people through education, science, technology and active participation in peacebuilding.

DAR has referred to the universal relevance of the heritage of the Holy Prophet (PSL), citing the Medina Charter as a timeless model of pluralism, dialogue and interconfessional relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.

In his remarks, he underlined the transformative impact of the teachings of the Prophet, noting that his philosophy of justice, tolerance and peace strongly resonates with the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.

In a statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, DAR also underlined the challenges that Muslim Ummah, including the global thrust of Islamophobia and unresolved conflicts such as Palestine and Kashmir. He urged his other Muslim states to intensify efforts to protect the fundamental rights of Muslims and end the fratricidal divisions within Ummah.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unshakable commitment to these objectives and his desire to collaborate with the member states of the OIC and the broader international community in this collective enterprise.
