During a press conference, a journalist questioned Roberts on his previous comments made in 2021 on being “relentless with our voices” and why the game is in Atlanta “when it is on the books”.

“I think Pat replied perfectly and honestly,” said Roberts. “I appreciate the question. I appreciate your thoughts. I think I am excited to be here. I think it’s a big city. I think that baseball fans are delighted to be here and celebrate these great athletes.
“I am not a politician. I think everyone has the right to express thoughts, but right now, I really choose to simply focus on game players and be excited to be here. For me, to be able to manage these guys and manage against these guys, I am honored.”
The 2021 electoral integrity law imposed new restrictions on voting by mail, added requirements for identifying voters and limited voting boxes. Biden criticized the law as “Jim Crow on steroids”.
