Davey Johnson, a double manager of the year who directed the 1986 New York Dies at a World Series championship, died at 82.
Johnson was a triple World Series champion, winning two as a player. But none of them was as notable as the title he brought to the Queens.
Decreasing 5-3 at the end of 10th in match 6 against the Boston Red Sox, the dishes joined the match, crowned by Bill Buckner’s error, who forced a match 7. The Amazin won this match and their second title.

Before becoming a manager, Johnson was quadruple All-Star as a player, winning three consecutive prizes Gold Glove from 1969 to 1971. Those, as well as his two titles as a player, came with the Baltimore Orioles.
Ironically, Johnson flew to Cleon Jones to give the food his first World Series title in 1969.
Johnson has also managed Cincinnati Reds, Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals. He also managed the United States at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the 2009 world baseball classic.

Johnson is one of the 15 managers to finish more than 300 games above .500, winning 85 or more games throughout the season except one as a manager. It ranks 10th in all times as a percentage of victories among managers with at least 1,000 victories.
He was a first champion of the analysis, contesting the alignments and decisions with Earl Weaver of the renowned temple.

In total, Johnson went 1,372-1.071 as a manager.
