David and Victoria Beckham chose to highlight their positive memories with their son, Brooklyn, amid ongoing tensions within the family.
The 50-year-old soccer star took to Instagram on Friday (January 23) and commented on British photographer Platon’s post, who shared a heartwarming anecdote about the time he had to do a photo shoot with the Beckham family.
The photographer explained how he saw the star athlete prioritizing his children above all else, as indicated by the tattoos of his sons’ names on his back, shown in the photo.
Reacting to the nostalgic post, David wrote: “Great memories,” while Victoria agreed, writing: “Brings back great memories! » in another comment.
In the caption, Plato paid tribute for being a great father and concluded his caption with, “Fame takes a heavy toll and it’s often family members who pay as well.”
While many social media users applauded David and Victoria’s story and dedication to their family, several seemed to think the timing of the post was odd, given the recent headlines Brooklyn made after releasing her statement.
One such comment read: “I think this proves Brooklyn’s point. ‘Social performance’ posts and brand damage control always comes first, even if it affects their children’s well-being. Very sad.”
Another agreed: “This whole thing feels like a very carefully organized PR project…” and “Is this story meant to deny or refute the pain Brooklyn is currently experiencing with her parents? I stand with Brooklyn,” chimed in a third.
