David Bowie released his last album almost ten years ago and his final years will now be commemorated in cinema.

According to Deadlinea documentary whose title is currently being produced David Bowie: The Final Actwill trace the final creative chapter of one of music’s most iconic artists.

It would feature rare interviews with those who knew and worked alongside Bowie, as well as fans and famous people who were inspired by his artistry.

The film’s focus is reportedly on exploring Bowie’s artistic resurrection during his final decade, during which he released his critically acclaimed album Blackstar just two days before his death.

The 90-minute feature film is a co-production between Channel 4, Dogwoof and Rogan Productions, who also made Freddie Mercury: The Final Act And ABBA: Against all odds.

Director Jonathan Stiasny shared, “Traditional music documentary celebrates triumph. What fascinated me most about making this film was that Bowie’s final chapter was not an ending, but a resurrection. He turned failure into triumph, silence into revelation, and ultimately death into art.”

David Bowie is widely recognized as one of the greatest musicians of all time, selling over 100 million records worldwide and winning countless awards. He died in January 2016 from liver cancer.
