A frightening scene took place on the progressive field in the Tigers of Cleveland Guardians-Dettoit Tuesday evening, while David Fry of the Guardians was struck in the face by a bad tip on a goal attempt.
At the bottom of the sixth round with the Guardians down 2-1, there were runners in the corners without withdrawal when Tarik Skubal delivered a 2-1 throw to Fry, which quickly turned into a square for a sacrifice bag.
But the rapid 99 -h / h ball of skubal, the AS of Tigers, was too far inside. While Fry was in contact with the terrain, he hit the top of his bat and redirected on his face.

Fry struck the marble dirt in immediate pain, while Skubal threw his glove and his hat under what happened. Skubal was in a clear discomfort after what happened, but everyone on the ground and in the stands shared his feelings while the coaches rushed to take care of frying.
Fry finally got up and blood flowed from his nose. A cart came out to remove Fry from the field, and as you can imagine, his night was over.

Unfortunately for Fry and the Guardians, because the ball contacted the bat before hitting it in the face, it was considered a ball at fault and the counting went to 2-2.
Pinch’s striker, George Valera, came to finish the strike and take his place for the rest of the match.

The round ended up getting worse for Skubal and the Tigers finally resumed. His first launch after the accident was wild, allowing the runner to the third goal to score to equalize the match, while Jose Ramirez went second.
Then Skubal committed a Balk, allowing Ramirez a free bag, and a base of the first base marked him to take a 3-2 lead before the seventh round.
Skubal is one of the best MLB launchers, while the winner of the Cy Young Award 2024 entered the match with an MPM of 2.23 at the top of the American League in 189.1 rounds. His curriculum vitae this season makes him a pioneer for the price once again.

Meanwhile, this match has enormous implications in the playoff series, because the Guardians are just a match behind the Tigers when they started their last series of three games in the regular season on Tuesday evening. Each game is crucial at this stage, with only a handful of games remaining to determine who will compete for a World Series title in October.
