David Spade has opened up about his long-running feud with Eddie Murphy, saying he spent 25 years trying to make things right.
The fight started after a joke from David Saturday evening live in 1995.
During a skit, he showed a picture of Eddie and said, “Look kids, it’s a shooting star, make a wish.” »
Eddie didn’t like the joke and called David saying it was “racist.”
David felt guilty and didn’t defend himself, claiming that Eddie was making sense, explaining that it was strange to go from being a big fan to being one of his heroes angry at him.
However, the tension lasted for many years, but they finally made peace during SNL’s 50th anniversary special.
David said everything was now “all good”. Comedian Dana Carvey said the situation showed that time can heal problems and make people see things differently.
Eddie previously said the joke hurt because it came at the wrong time after the failure of his film Vampire in Brooklyn.
But he made it clear he has no hard feelings, saying: “I’m cool with everyone. It’s love.”
History has highlighted that even long disagreements between famous actors can come to an end.
