NEW DELHI:
India expanded its punitive measures against Pakistan on Saturday, prohibiting the import of goods from or transit via Pakistan and except Pakistani ships as well as blocking access to social media accounts of Pakistani actors and cricket players.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade in India has declared in a notification that the prohibition would take effect immediately. “This restriction is imposed in the interest of national security and public policies,” he said.
India has said that Pakistani ships would not be allowed to visit an Indian port and that the Indian robberies would not visit any ports in Pakistan.
“This prescription is made to guarantee the safety of Indian assets, cargoes and connected infrastructure, in the public interest and for the interest of Indian delivery,” said the Directorate General of Shipping in a press release. Trade between the two nations has decreased in recent years.
In addition, the Indian Ministry of Communications has published a statement, saying that it had “decided to suspend the exchange of all the categories of incoming and parcels in Pakistan through air and surface routes”.
This decision, however, is considered to be largely symbolic, because regular diplomatic thrusts between the two neighbors over the decades have prevented close economic ties. But cultural ties remain much stronger.
On social networks, India prohibited more than a dozen Pakistani YouTube channels on April 28 to have pretended to have pretended the “provocative” content, including the Pakistani media.
On Saturday, other restrictions blocked access to India in the Instagram account of former Pakistani minister Imran Khan.
The regulars of the film by Bollywood Fawad Khan and Atif Aslam were also prohibited, as well as a wide range of cricket players – including star strikers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan and retired players Shahid Afridi and Wasim Akram.
The Instagram account of the Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem was also not accessible to Indian users, reflecting the wide range of distribution beyond simple cricket.
Users in India trying to access these accounts are displayed a message indicating that they are not available due to compliance with a legal request.
