Los Angeles Chargers Second Denzel Perryman will not face criminal accusations after law enforcement officials in California said they had discovered five firearms in his car during a traffic stop.
Perryman, 32, was arrested by Los Angeles sheriff deputies Friday evening, after several weapons were found in his possession, including two “Assaut style rifles”.

“On August 1, 2025, at 9:30 p.m., the deputies of the South Los Angeles station made a traffic stop on the Los Angeles Chargers football player, Denzel Perryman, 32, for violations of the vehicle code,” said the Sheriff department in a statement.

“During the traffic stop, the deputies discovered five firearms in Mr. Perryman’s vehicle, two of which were assault rifles.”

According to online prison files, he was listed as being held only. The Los Angeles County Prosecutor’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
Perryman initially had a hearing date listed Tuesday before being released without any accusation on Monday.
