After having experienced a limited playing time by supporting Quinn Ewers for its first two seasons in Texas, Arch Manning opened its first season as a full -time starting last Saturday.

Howard, who won the Heisman trophy in 1991, suggested that Manning should not have been included in the discussions of off -season on the main candidates for the most coveted trophy in university football.
“All the media and Heisman speech around him were unjustified,” said Howard in the edition of “The Rich Eisen Show”.

“People don’t really want to criticize him, in part because he’s a Manning,” said Howard. “They want to stay in good favor with the Mannings, because they are a big name in our sport. So what they do is make Matt Patricia, the defensive coordinator of Ohio State, just called this brilliant game which kept Steve Sarkisian and Arch, which was unbalanced during four whole districts.”
