The chief of staff of the army, the Marshal Asim Munnir, stressed that despite the evolution of the strategic dynamics, the friendship between Pakistan and China remained firm and unshakable, the inter-service public relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Friday.

According to the army media wing, the army chief made these remarks while attending the 98th birthday founding of the Popular Liberation Army (PLA) in China held at the General Siege (GHQ) in Rawalpindi with Chinese and Pakistani officials high present.

The chief guest of the ceremony was the Chinese ambassador of Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, the ISPR said.

The Chinese envoy was joined by the Chinese defense attaché, Major-General Wang Zhong, other officials of the Embassy and senior army, the Navy and the Pakistani Air Force.

Marshal Munnir warmly received the Chinese guests and extended congratulations on behalf of the Pakistani army.

In his remarks, he praised the role of the APL by guaranteeing the defense of China and the efforts to strengthen the nation over almost a century, according to the press release from the ISPR.

Coas Munnir stressed that the Pakistani-Chinese strategic relationship illustrates mutual trust, unshakable support and shared commitment.

“Our friendship with China is unique, tested in time and exceptionally resilient,” said army army chief.

Stressing the strength of bilateral military ties, Marshal Munnir said: “The APL and the Pakistani army are real brothers in arms. Our sustainable partnership is essential to promoting regional stability and the guarantee of our shared strategic interests. ”

On this occasion, the Chinese ambassador Jiang Zaidong thanked the Coas for organizing the event and recognized the sacrifices made by the armed forces of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and reaffirmed the unwavering support of Beijing and his commitment to his strategic partnership with Islamabad.
