Islamabad:
The federal government planned to allocate more RS1 Billions in next year’s budget for various development projects, including hundreds of billions of rupees for road infrastructure and water and electricity projects, and significant funds for the promotion of higher education.
According to sources, a meeting of the annual plan coordination committee (APCC) was convened on June 2 to finalize the public sector development program (PSDP) and the annual development plan (ADP) for the year 2025-26.
The plans will be sent to the National Economic Council (NEC) – to be chaired by the Prime Minister – for their approval this week. After the NEC approval, development plans will be part of the 2025-26 federal budget which should be revealed on June 10.
The total expenditure of the development budget should exceed 1 billion of rupees, according to sources.
Under the proposed PSDP, they declared that the allowance of 170 billion rupees had been proposed for the construction of roads, 140 billion rupees for water projects and 105 billion rupees for the Power division.
