Islamabad:
The Minister of the Interior, Mohin Naqvi, met the acting ambassador Natalie Baker on Thursday to discuss Pakistani relations, efforts to fight terrorism and mutual cooperation.
The meeting took place in the presence of the Minister of State in the Interior Talal Chaudhry, the American political adviser Zach Harkenrider and the Federal Interior Secretary Khurram Agha.
During the meeting, Ambassador Baker firmly condemned the attack on Jaffar Express and other recent terrorist incidents, expressing condolences to the families of the victims. She reaffirmed the support of the United States to the struggle of Pakistan against terrorism and underlined the need for global collaboration to meet this challenge. The discussion also included plans to organize a counter-terrorism dialogue in June and strategies for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Minister Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan made decisive measures against terrorists and is developing a policy to combat complete terrorism. He also recognized the appreciation of the United States of Pakistan’s efforts in the fight against terrorism.
In addition, the meeting addressed the question of undocumented Pakistanis in the United States, Naqvi ensuring complete cooperation for their repatriation. It has also been announced that the Caucus Pak-US meeting will be held in New York on April 30 to further improve strategic links between the two nations.
Ambassador Baker also praised the ongoing development projects in Islamabad, recognizing Pakistan’s commitment to economic and infrastructure progress.
This high-level commitment highlights the deepening strategic partnership between Pakistan and the United States, in particular in security and control efforts.
