Diane Keaton’s hidden message for children in latest song revealed

Diane Keaton’s touching farewell to children revealed after her death

Diane Keaton prepared a heartwarming “goodbye” for her children during her final months.

The actress, who died on October 11 at the age of 79, was aware that her time was near and therefore left “soft” music like a “soft blanket” to console her “soon to be in mourning” family when she would no longer be there, via Radaronline.com.

For the uninformed, the Annie Hall star, composed her first and final solo song First Christmas late last year, which she co-wrote with close friend Carole Bayer Sager

According to a close source, who had worked with Keaton, the late star used to tell friends that she “knew her time was coming” and wanted to leave “something sweet and lasting” for her children.

“Diane told us that this song wasn’t just about loss, but also about the love that survives it. She said, ‘When I’m gone, I want them to play it and still feel me singing to them.'”

A second source said of the actress: “She was so thin by the end, but still had that sparkle and sparkle in her eyes. She called the song her security blanket – a way to hold her children when she couldn’t. Working together on First Christmas was her way of saying goodbye without saying it.”

Notably, Sager also remembers being “stunned” by Keaton’s poor appearance during her final weeks.

The lyrics to Keaton’s last and only song say: “Now I wish I could let go, it’s a silent night, it’s another year, the first Christmas without you here.”
