- Antigravity is incubated by Insta360
- A world 360 drone with “Immersive Flight” is planned for the launch of August
- He will shoot an 8k video and weigh less than 250g
Insta360 and DJI enter the worlds of each other this week, with Insta360 revealing today the antigravity – a 360 degree drone in manufacturing – and the DJI which will launch its first 360 camera on July 31. Give me the popcorn.
Antigravity’s philosophy is simple: 360 immersive flight with the first 360 drone in the world. And the project is one step ahead since it is incubated by Insta360 – the first manufacturer of 360 cameras in the world.
The details are thin on the ground; We know that the next drone will present “several first world in the design of drones”, that it is ready for a launch of August; that he will draw an 8K video; And that it will weigh less than 250 g, which makes it accessible to beginner and expert pilots.
If the first 360 drone is actually an insta360 X5 flying, then we are for a treat, especially with dynamic videos that could be created using 360 -degree images, in addition to the new type of flight experience.
To watch
The two -page press release from Antigravity is filled with high promises. “Incubated by Insta360 In collaboration with third parties, Antigravity develops powerful 360 drones that are immersive, ready for the creator and easy to fly – whether by capturing family moments, weekend adventures or creative projects,” said the press release.
“Its mission is to make drones more inclusive, expressive and fun. By combining 360 captures with intuitive control systems, the antigravity is a pioneer of a new category of air exploration and narration.”
Prototype disclosed
The antigravity press release focuses on its brand vision, with little product information. However, we have apparently seen a first overview of the next drone in a disclosed video shared by Insta360 Tipster @quadro_news on X (formerly Twitter).
We do not yet know the name of the new drone which is “set to revolutionize the industry”, but the prototype of drone 360 seems to have twin cameras for a complete 360 degree coverage – the one that covers directly, the other directly below.
There are also twin sensors at the front of the drone, which are probably for the detection of objects – it is a characteristic of practical flight safety.

We do not yet know if neither how the next 360 drone will run 360 images without the owners of the photo, nor how the drone will be controlled beyond what antigravity calls “intuitive control systems” – which could mean one or all of a mobile application, a controller or a helmet.
A view without propellants will be crucial for the whole experience – and looking at the high design that we have seen in the prototypes, this could allow it. However, everything will be revealed in the coming weeks, because the new antigravity drone will be revealed in August.
It is certainly a type of drone that is quite different from what you will find in the DJI portfolio, and potentially one of the largest upheavals in the drone market for years. I think that combining 360 camera and drone worlds in a single product has a total meaning, if it is done effectively.
Antigravity wants to “own” the Drone 360 space. If its first product is a success, I expected a clock to check on this property – especially with the history of DJI and how it is about to enter the space of the 360 camera.
