Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied the fifth time.
A federal judge ruled against the liberation of the rapper on Monday, citing “a risk of theft or danger”.
In recent court documents, judge Arun Subramanian wrote that Combs had not respected the legal standard required for the Liberation.
“The court must find by clear and convincing evidence that the person is not likely to flee or to pose a danger to the security of any other person or the community if it is released,” wrote the judge, concluding that the Combs do not satisfy this burden.
Subramanian also referred to the strict conditions in which the deposit could have been considered, noting that such a decision would require “exceptional reasons” – such as advanced age or serious medical conditions which cannot be managed adequately in detention. “This is not this case,” said the judge clearly.
The decision comes only a few days after the former friend of Combres, Virginia “Gina” Huynh, who has been referenced several times in her indictment as “victim-3”, submitted a letter to the court arguing for his release.
In his letter, Huynh was identified by his name for the first time, urging the judge to consider the role of Combs as a family man and claiming that he is “not a danger to the public”.
Combs is detained at the Brooklyn metropolitan detention center, where he awaits his conviction for a federal conviction of July 2 for transport to engage in prostitution.
It has been acquitted more serious charges of sex traffic and racketeering.
