Faisalabad:
The federal minister of railways hanif Abbasi has announced that major projects, including the digitization of Pakistani railways, its upgrade and outsourcing, should be completed during this year.
He added that the Faisalabad station will be upgraded according to modern international standards in the next 45 days.
Addressing the media during his visit to the Faisalabad station on Saturday, Abbasi said that under the vision of the Prime Minister, short and long -term projects were under national level to modernize railway operations, promote regional connectivity and provide world class installations to passengers.
He said that under the scanning disc, the ticket system was fully automated, the trains monitoring system was operational and that ATM machines were installed in the main stations.
Abbasi noted that in collaboration with the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, Wi-Fi services were introduced in 40 stations in the province. The initiative began in Lahore and will soon extend to Faisalabad, Karachi, Hyderabad and other cities.
He revealed that the outsourcing process will be completed by September 30, covering nine to eleven passenger trains, freight trains, rest homes, special salons, hospitals, schools and other facilities aimed at improving the quality of services and increasing public relations income.
The minister added that special fairs, previously reserved for government representatives, were now open to rent to the general public at reasonable prices. Apply
