Lower dir:

The members of the tribe of a border village of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Lower Dir district announced that they will take up arms against foreign terrorists operating in the volatile region along the Afghan border, promising to expel them with their local facilitators.

Development comes in the midst of a strong increase in terrorist violence in border districts, with reports that Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and their Afghan cohorts use sanctuaries through the border to launch attacks inside Pakistan.

According to local sources, a large Jirga held on Saturday resolved that no terrorist would be authorized to stay in Maskin Darra, Lower Dir.

The Jirga warned that if someone was trying to sabotage or subversive activity, their properties would be confiscated and that their families, as well as those of their facilitators, are banned from the region.

The tribal assembly has also decided to organize night patrols to monitor and restrict the movement of terrorists along the border. This decision follows the revelations of security sources one day earlier than terrorists in the neighboring district of Bajaur lived among the local population while putting terrorist and criminal activities.

The provincial government, including the chief minister and senior security officials, had offered three options to the former local tribals: 1.) Expel foreign elements – the majority of which are Afghan – national nationals; 2.) If you cannot expel them, temporarily cancel the area for one or two days to allow security forces to carry out operations to eliminate terrorists; 3.) If it is not possible, reduce collateral damage to a minimum, because the operations will continue in all circumstances.

Security sources have stressed that there was “absolutely no question” to keep talks with “Khawarij” or their facilitators unless they go to the state. TPT terrorists – responsible for a large part of terrorist violence in the country – were officially designated as “Fitna al -Khwarij”. The officials say they receive financial and material support from the India Intelligence Agency, RAW.

Security sources have said that the reception of the Tribal Jirga was a logical step to ensure maximum civil protection before any operation, but reiterated that there could be “no compromise” with the Khawarij, describes as “enemies of Islam and the State”.

“Neither religion, nor the state, nor the values of the courageous people of KP allow such a compromise,” said a source, adding that the authority to carry out an armed operation lies only in the state.
