Uzbekistan Airways announced the start of direct flights between Tashkent and Islamabad, which is expected to start on May 24, according to Arab News. Initially, the airline will operate weekly flights every Saturday.
Discussions are currently underway with Civil Aviation Authority to finalize the necessary logistical and regulatory arrangements. Subject to demand and operational considerations, the frequency of flights should increase over time.
In addition to the Tashkent-Islamabad road, Uzbekistan Airways explores plans to introduce direct flights to Karachi in the near future.
Currently, Uzbekistan Airways operates bihebdomedar flights between Tashkent and Lahore on Wednesdays and Fridays, offering essential air connectivity between the two countries.
The new air link should strengthen the exchanges, trade and tourism of people between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. The initiative is the result of the joint efforts of the Uzbek Embassy in Islamabad and Uzbekistan Airways JSC, aimed at deepening cooperation and promoting stronger links between the two nations.
