DJI is defined to enter another action camera border with its first 360 camera, the OSMO 360.
Following a chain of leaks, which recently revealed the packaging of the OSMO 360 with a certain number of specifications which includes photos of 8K and 120MP video, as well as the pricing of Australia, we now have an official word to know when we wait for the OSMO 360 – The launch is fixed for July 31 at 8 a.m. Edt (1 p.m. UK, 10 p.m.).

In the video, we can see that the OSMO 360 has a Gopro Max type design which is a little square that the stick -shaped design of the X5, while it weighs only 6.5 OZ / 184g – about 10% lighter than the Insta360 X5.
It seems that there is a package which includes additional batteries and a load case of three batteries, while the USB-C apparently takes a quick load of 30 W.
The optimized square sensor can record an 8K video with a 10-bit color depth and the DJI flat D-LOG color profile, while the X5 is limited to the 8-bit color depth. The combination of a larger and greater color sensor should lead to a more natural image.
There are several examples of videos side by side with the OSMO 360 and X5 in the video, demonstrating the difference in image quality.
We also obtain a race of some of the functionality of the OSMO 360, including the internal storage of 128 GB, a single lens mode, as well as the new 360 edition suite of DJI.
An area where the X5 has the upper hand, especially for GUNG -HO users, is that its objectives can be fully replaced in case of damage, while OSMO 360 – like any other 360 camera – are fixed.
