Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are the only two quarters under contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

During his introductory press conference, Metcalf took a moment to rent the Steelers for providing a warm reception.
“Coach [Mike] Tomlin, Mr. Omar [Khan] and M. [Art] Rooney jumped on the phone with me on Sunday, and it was just intimate, felt welcoming that they wanted to bring me to this historic organization, “said Metcalf.” Quite just snowball from there and brought me here in front of you today. “”

“They made me feel that they had the right decision with whom football was going to throw me,” said Metcalf, according to ESPN. “I do not make the decision in the quarter hall. So, I will just try to do the best of my abilities to help who they have there to launch football. They make the right decisions to bring the quarterrier here. So, I’m just going to ride with that.”

Metcalf, George Pickens and Calvin Austin III are the best Steelers receivers before the 2025 season. Pickens bears the same number, so Metcalf decided to go to No. 4.
“I mean, he is here, he made a must in No. 14,” said Metcalf in reference to Pickens. “I am not trying to remove the inheritance from anyone, just trying to help build mine.”
The Steelers finished the regular season of 2024 with a 10-7 file and were eliminated eliminatory series in the Tour of the Joker.
