- Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 has accidentally been put online on PS5, causing certain problems
- Patch 8 has since been canceled and can cause problems for PS5 players
- The Larian Studios declares that players should perform a complete resettlement of their game to solve the problem
Larian Studios offered a quick solution to Baldur’s Gate 3 PlayStation 5 players who were affected by the involuntary release of Patch 8.
Yesterday, the long -awaited update, which has not yet had a launch date, was accidentally pushed live on PS5 before the release of the Patch 8 stress test, which seemed to be confusing many players.
“No, the Stress Patch 8 test has not yet started,” said Larian on social networks at the time. “Yes, PS5 players currently have access to Patch 8. Although we work with our partners to understand what is going on, please note that any new backup made on Patch 8 will not be compatible with Patch 7. How Your Monday? “
The update was quickly canceled, however, this may have caused certain compatibility problems for people on PS5 who have been affected, especially if they use mods. This could make their backup game unplayable or corrupt.
Fortunately, Larian shared an easy solution to, hope, recover the players on the right track
“Our partners have confirmed that certain regions were mistakenly received the construction of Patch 8 as update of their live game version, in preparation for the stress test Patch 8,” said the studio in a new blog. “This version of Patch 8 is not supported, and you may encounter compatibility problems with games and backup mods.
“You can return to the version of the Patch 7 game by uninstalling and reinstalling your Baldur’s Gate 3 game.”
According to Larian, if users have the 01.800,000 or 4.1.1.6583053 version in the corner of their main menu, this is the version of Patch 8 and is not supported. Everything below this number should be the correct 7.
The blog post also notes that if you have always installed the Patch 8, the multiplayer will be inaccessible, there will be problems with the mods and any new backup made on the Patch 8 will be incompatible with the Patch 7 version of the game.
For the latter, this means that players will have to “create a new backup or replace an existing backup on the 8” because they “can not continue to use this backup if you return to Patch 7”.
Patch 8 was revealed in November 2024 and will present all the new features at Baldur’s Gate 3Including the photo mode, the cross game and 12 new subclasses.
