- iOS 26.0.1 now takes place for compatible devices
- It corrects connectivity and camera bugs on new iPhones
- iOS 18.7.1 is also available for older handsets
The big iOS 26 deployment started a few weeks ago, and iOS 26.0.1 is already available. Although it is not a huge update, it offers important bug corrections for various Air iPhone 17 and iPhone models, so it is worth installed in the first opportunity.
As indicated by MacRumors, the IOS version notes 26.0.1 mention the fixes for connectivity problems and the photo glitch on new 2025 iPhones, as well as for problems with virgin application icons (when applying a personalized shade) and the voiceover function.
We covered intermittent Wi-Fi and Bluetooth problems last week, who caused users of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air loses active connections when unlocking their handsets. This then affected links to other devices such as Carplay dashboards.
And we have also written on the photo problem, where particular types of LED lighting shine in the cameras on these new models – during a concert, perhaps – would cause white scribbles and black rectangles to appear on the images. Apple recognized this problem, but said it was “very rare”.
First numbers
Although it is not ideal to see insects and problems appear on a whole new smartphone, and it is not unexpected: most new handsets are now delivered with at least one or two attached numbers, regardless of the brand. The owners of Google Pixel 10 reported wireless load problems with older chargers, for example.
As frustrating as these bugs are, they seem to have affected a minority of the new models, and Apple was at least quickly during deployment. There is also a new iOS 18.7.1 update for older iPhones that do not support iOS 26 (this is something before the iPhone 11 roughly).
It was a similar story last year, with random restarts and touch screen problems initially reported by the owners of the iPhone 16 handsets at the time when iOS 18 landed. As with this year, software fixes were quickly issued.
There will probably be more bug corrections on the way in the coming weeks, and iOS 26.1 is already in beta. However, these software improvements can do nothing for your iPhone if you see an excessive scratching amount.
