- Immersive audio ascendo launches new 64-inch and 100 inch submarines
- “The biggest subwoofers in the world for domestic cinema”
- Expect a six-digit price
If, like me, you think that the subwoofer of your hi-fi or your home theater system is quite hot stuff, prepare to feel very small. The new subwoofer of the German Audio Audio Audio Audio Audio is probably 10 times larger than yours and 12 times larger than mine.
My idea of a large subwoofer is 15 inches, like the biggest Kef Kube: my own Cambridge sub -ubdoscope is an eight perfectly decent inches, and this offers more than Boom to fill my room. But the new Ascendo submarine is so large that it will fill any room before turning it on. It is a huge 100 inches in diameter, which makes it more than 7,800 square inches of surface.

Who will buy a 100-inch submarine?
The new sub -100 SU is designed for a very special type of customer: the genre that looked at the previous model, the 80 Sub (yes. It was 80 inches), and thought “Oh, it’s far too small and silent”. The driver alone weighs more than 570 lb (260 kg).
The 100 sous moves as much air as 40 18 -inch normal subwoofers, says the company, and there is also a slightly smaller 64 -inch model. “These two new subwofers are the most important in the world for home cinema and are incredibly powerful, efficient and fast,” said Geoffrey Heinzel d’Ascendo.
Despite the ridiculous power, these are not designed to be total brutes. There is a less deep curve than the previous 80 inch model for improving performance, a quadruple suspension optimized for greater movement and “advanced” materials for noise -free operation. The cabinets have also been redesigned, with a boost reported to the low -end frequency response and an improvement in damping to reduce resonance.
The price is firmly in the territory “If you have to ask, you cannot afford it” and has not been officially announced, but Sub 80 was in six figures.
