Dolly Parton has just called the budget cuts made for her imagination library.
The legendary Country Music icon and PhilanthropE called Mike Braun, the Republican Governor of Indiana, after his literacy program was announced.
Dolly’s initiative started with the aim of promoting literacy in Indiana, offering eligible children under the age of five with a free book each month.
Now, a representative of the Jolene Hitmaker, addressed the governor and asked him to reconsider the decision.
“We hope that Governor Braun and the Indiana legislature will continue this vital investment by restaurants the state financing match for local imagination library programs,” the statement started.
The declaration of the representative continued: “The beauty of the imagination library is that it unites us all – whatever the policy – because each child deserves the possibility of dreaming great and of succeeding.”
“In the past two years, the state of Indiana has been a proud partner to bring Dolly Parton’s imagination library every month to more than 125,000 HOOSIER children each month,” he also mentioned .
“Together, we helped feed a love of reading, given the families of precious moments of joy, and built a basis for lifelong learning,” concluded the spokesperson for Dolly Parton.
The superstar imagination library was inspired by the artist’s father to read or write. Dolly’s initiative helped 3,19,720 children worldwide receive 264,1752 pounds.
