Doom: dark ages should be avoided by portable game pc fans for the moment – and it is a problem that I find more and more frustrating

  • ID software Doom: dark ages is faced with crushing problems on portable games
  • The problem seems to come from obsolete drivers on AMD Ryzen Z1 propels pocket computers like the Asus Rog Ally
  • It seems that neither AMD nor ID software is recoil, but rather laptop providers like Asus and Lenovo

The long waiting of ID software Doom: dark ages is finally finished, because the premium publishing, offering two days of early access, is now available – but if you use a portable game PC powered by AMD, it is probably preferable clearly for the moment.

As our friends have reported at PC Gamer, Doom: dark ages is unplayable on portable games, especially those that use Ryzen Z1 chips from AMD, due to constant collisions. This is obvious in the video provided by PC Gamer, which sees the game game in seconds due to a failure of the AMD driver.

I can corroborate the same crushing problems; Although the start of the game campaign was good (on my Asus Rog Ally Z1 Extreme), it did not take more than 10 seconds for the game to stop. This would result in a black screen, the game always audible in the background, or worse, fireing – however, the blame is apparently not on ID software and its new title.

Since the game requires the latest AMD Adrenaline Graphic Pilot 25.5.1 – which is the first invitation indicated during startup – accidents are expected on these pocket computers. And that points directly to the question; The Asus Rog Ally and the Lenovo Legion Go which use the extreme Ryzen Z1 processors of AMD are most often on obsolete graphic pilots.
