DPM DAR, Afghan Afghan FM MUTTAQI reaffirms the support of the UAP railway line project

The Darrier of Foreign Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar and the Minister of Affairs of Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi, reaffirmed their commitment to advance to Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistanais (UAP) on Sunday, judging him a vital stage to improve regional connectivity.

In a telephone conversation, the two ministers stressed the strategic importance of the proposed railway corridor and agreed to work closely for the early finalization of its framework agreement, according to a press release from Pakistan’s Foreign Office.

Muttaqi praised Pakistan’s decision to upgrade diplomatic relations with Kabul at the ambassador and confirmed that Afghanistan would do the same.

He described the “positive development” decision for bilateral links.

The conversation was also followed by Dar’s visit to Kabul on April 19, 2025.

The two parties examined the implementation of key decisions made during this trip and reiterated their common commitment to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation.

Last month, Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to ensure the worthy and ordered repatriation of undocumented Afghan nationals, in the midst of the tensions on the expulsion campaign of Islamabad.

DAR’s first trip to Afghanistan since functions have focused on undressing friction and restarting stalled cooperation on security and regional connectivity.

During his meetings with the Minister of Actromanes Acting Amir Khan Muttaqi, Dar underlined the need to manage cross -border security, to fight against activism and to strengthen bilateral trade.

The ministers agreed to finalize a joint committee of intelligence officials and the Ministry of the Interior to respond to concerns against terrorism and border management.

The two parties also reached a consensus on the improvement of regional economic links by initiatives such as the Power Casa-1000 project and the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistanais transnational rail.
