Darrier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the creation of a sovereign and independent Palestinian State during a telephone conversation with the Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders discussed the current crisis in the Middle East, in particular the situation in Gaza. DAR reiterated the position of Pakistan in favor of a Palestinian state based on the frontiers before 1967, with al-Quds al-Sharif as capital.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also condemned the proposals to move the population of Gaza, describing them as concerning. He stressed that the Palestinian lands belong to his people and have called for a conflict resolution thanks to the implementation of a two -state solution, in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
In addition, DAR expressed the support of Pakistan to convene an extraordinary meeting of the organization of foreign ministers of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) to solve the problem.
The two officials have agreed to maintain close coordination in the coming days to monitor regional developments. Pakistan has always pleaded for a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue based on international law and justice.
Earlier this week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a strong response to the remarks of American President Donald Trump concerning Gaza, calling them unjust and unacceptable.
At the weekly media conference, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, reaffirmed the Pakistan firm, the Pakistan firm, declaring that his policy has been unchanged since 1947.
