DPM Dar visits us next week to attend “high -level events”

Darrier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar will visit the United States next week to attend high-level signing events of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) of Pakistan in New York, as well as for certain commitments to Washington.

In New York, as part of the signing events of the Security Council of Pakistan, the Prime Minister will chair a high -level open debate on “promotion of international peace and security by multilateralism and the peaceful settlement of disputes”.

“The high-level debate aims to explore ways to strengthen multilateralism and improve diplomacy and mediation for peaceful dispute resolution,” the Foreign Office spokesman said on a press release on Saturday.

In addition, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will chair the open quarterly debate of the Security Council on the “situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue”.

He will also chair a high -level briefing of the United Nations Security Council which will focus on improving cooperation between the UN and the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC).

The meeting takes place within the framework of Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen collaboration between the OIC and the UN for the maintenance of international peace and security.

To express the strong commitment of Pakistan and an unwavering support for the right to self -determination of the Palestinian people, Dar will also attend the high -level conference on the “peaceful regulation of the question of Palestine and the implementation of the two -state solution”.

During his stay in New York, he should also have several bilateral commitments with his counterparts, as well as senior UN officials.

“Dar’s visit to New York and Washington illustrates the growing role and importance of Pakistan in the multilateral arena as well as its expanding multiform relations with the United States,” the statement said.

“The high-level participation of Pakistan in the quarterly debate of the United Nations Security Council on the Middle East as well as the international conference on the peaceful regulation of the Palestine issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, is also a testimony to Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to and support the Palestinian cause,” he concluded.

The visit occurred for weeks after Pakistan officially recommended US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for Peace 2026, citing his role in the speed of tensions between Pakistan and India earlier this year.

A letter of recommendation, signed by DPM DAR, was sent to the Nobel Committee in Norway.

According to the government, this decision recognizes President Trump’s efforts to provoke a ceasefire between the two nuclear weapons neighbors and to underline the cashmere dispute on the international scene.
