ISLAMABAD:

Jailed PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid has approached the Supreme Court to challenge PML-N President Nawaz Sharif’s electoral victory in the 2024 elections.

The appeal filed in the Supreme Court challenges the election tribunal’s decision, which rejected his plea against Nawaz’s victory in a constituency in Lahore.

He argues that the court denied the motion on technical grounds and failed to properly consider the facts and law. The petition states that the changes to Form 45 violate constitutional requirements for election transparency.

He further claims that issuing notices to candidates before final results are compiled is a legal requirement, but no such notice has been issued. The appeal asks the Supreme Court to overturn the election tribunal’s decision and declare Yasmin Rashid the winner.
