Drake is now furious as he fights back after a court threw out his defamation case against Universal Music Group.
The 39-year-old rapper officially filed an appeal on Jan. 21 with the U.S. Court of Appeals, while showing he’s not yet ready to drop the high-profile lawsuit over Kendrick Lamar’s diss track. Not like us.
The affair began in dramatic fashion in January 2025 when he said the song damaged his reputation because it called him a “certified pedophile.”
However, Drake also argued that Universal’s promotion of this track made things even worse, but that Kendrick was now no longer part of the lawsuit.
A federal judge threw out the case in October 2025, saying the words were opinions, not facts.
Drake’s team disagreed with the judge’s conclusion, adding that the song presented his lyrics as clear facts and misled fans with its marketing while causing even more damage.
For those who don’t know, Drake first filed a notice of appeal in November 2025, officially starting the process.
Furthermore, the never-ending affair that has been the buzz for so long continues to attract a lot of attention in the music world.
Every Drake and Kendrick fan and industry insider is now wondering where the thin line is.
