Martin responded in shock, “I didn’t know that. I mean, I knew you were a wayward teenager, just like me. I was in rehab and all, but I didn’t know you were in one of those places.”
Barrymore went on to praise the series, as it shows the struggling teen industry through complex storytelling.
THE Forever The star explained, “I had a lot of lightness in my experience within the institution. That’s a lot of what this show is about. I know it sounds crazy, but it was like an encouragement to speak your truth, to be brave, to find humor and heroism in your journey. And it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me, honestly.”
“And I hold a lot of that sacrosanct. But it wasn’t easy. It was very hard,” Drew Barrymore noted.
It is relevant to mention that Rebel was released on September 25, 2025 on Netflix.
