For users of Dropbox passwords, it is time to consult the best password managers and find a new service to use, after the Cloud storage company has revealed that it will soon interrupt the service.
The end of the service for dropbox passwords will be October 28, 2025, which gives users enough time to find a new identification manager to meet their needs.
In the announcement, Dropbox said that it interrupted the tool, “as part of our efforts to focus on improving other features of our main product.”

Dropbox password users will still have enough time to access their registered user names, passwords and credit card information stored for export until October 28, but there will be key changes before that.
On August 28, 2025, the password manager will only become the view on the two mobile devices and via the extension of the browser. You will no longer be able to add identification information or use the automatic functionality from this date.
On September 11, the mobile application will be depreciated and will no longer be available for use. Your data will remain available via the browser extension.
The fateful date of October 28 will see all DROPBOX password data in complete safety and the DARK web monitoring functionality will stop working.
In his blog article, Dropbox provided key information on how to export your data from the application and the extension of the browser. Mobile application users can follow these instructions to export their data:
- Open the Dropbox Mobile Passwords application.
- Press (Settings).
- Press export.
- Press export to confirm.
To export browser extension data, proceed as follows:
- Open the Dropbox password browser extension.
- Click on your avatar (profile or initial photo) in the lower left corner.
- Click on preferences.
- Click on the Account tab.
- Click Export.
- Click Export to confirm.
