The Duchess of Edinburgh was reportedly left in shock when she witnessed a painful accident, almost breaking royal protocol.
The 60-year-old royal, who rose to prominence with King Charles as his “secret weapon” for the monarchy, has been dragged into an unfortunate court case involving an 81-year-old woman, who lost her life in 2023.
A woman named Helen Holland was crossing the street at the Old Bailey when she was hit by speeding officer PC Christopher Harrison, who was part of the convoy of motorbikes escorting Sophie as she left the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office.
The officer received a verdict of “not guilty”, which sparked an emotional response from Helen’s family. One of the family members had shouted: “You have ruined our family without any consequences. »
Prince Edward’s wife remained silent during the legal proceedings. She only issued a statement at the time to express her sympathies to the family. She was unable to comment further due to the ongoing lawsuit.
In a new report from Daily Mailpreviously unseen details of Sophie’s reaction were shared in which she almost broke protocol for the pedestrian.
For the first time, they detailed the horrific injuries Helen suffered in what Harrison described in court as “a tragic accident”. They also shared that moments after the collision, the Duchess of Edinburgh attempted to leave her vehicle to rush towards Helen.
Meanwhile, Helen’s son, Martin, and daughter-in-law, Lisa, file another lawsuit, not to get any compensation, but to prove that the beloved great-grandmother “did nothing wrong.”
