Duke Cooper Flagg described as a “generational” player after performance in Win against Wake Forest

Cooper Flagg scored 24 points, seized seven rebounds and collected six assists playing 39 of the 40 minutes in the 63-56 victory of the Duke Blue Devils against the deacons of Wake Forest demons on Saturday.

Duke, team 2 of the country, improved at 17-2 and 9-0 against ACC opponents. It was Flagg who gave the Blue Devils the shock they needed in the second half a few centimeters from Wake Forest. At one point, Flagg scored three times on a series of seven consecutive score possessions.

In defense, Duke went from man to man in the area to slow down the demon deacons with about eight minutes in the match. Flagg admitted that he had never played a zone before. He finished with two blocks in the match.

The legend of Flagg only grows before his probable jump to the NBA. It is a performance like the one against Wake Forest which only solidified it as a potential generational talent at the next level. He even left an indelible impression on Wake Forest Steve Forbes coach.

“Generation,” he said when he was asked to describe Flagg. “I will give you an example – their top scorer last year was the first choice in the second round. This guy will be the first choice in the first round. Big difference.

“It’s a hard to keep.

Flagg is on average 19.5 points, 8 rebounds and 4.2 assists this season. Duke still has 12 games before the start of the conference tournament.
