- Dynambook launches three ultraportable laptops weighing only 849G
- G8, G6 and GS share 13.3 inch screens, a long battery life and a thin design
- The selection of ports includes Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, microSD and Ethernet
Dynabook launched a trio of laptops in Japan, all weighing only 849 g (about 1.87 pounds). The new range includes the G8, G6 and GS series, each being slightly different but share the same ultra-portability.
The G8 series is the flagship option and is powered by Core Ultra 7 or Ultra 5 processors from Intel, associated with 16 GB of memory and 512 GB of SSD.
This model is delivered with a 13.3 -inch WUXGA winning display, promising wide vision angles and high color reproduction.
Ditto, but different
Security features include facial recognition, as well as a TPM chip and password protection.
The G6 comes with the Intel Ultra 5 processor. Like the G8, it has 16 GB of memory and an SSD of 512 GB, plus the same 13.3 inch screen.
The G6 also includes facial recognition and a similar port provision, keeping the weight at the same 849g.
The GS series, introduced as a standard model, uses Core Ultra 5 from Intel with 16 GB of memory but associates it with a smaller 256 GB SSD.
Although it shares the same 13.3 -inch Wuxga panel and the weight of 849 g, the GS replaces facial recognition with a fingerprint sensor.
Battery performance is consistent throughout the range, with around 11 hours during video playback and up to 28 hours in slow motion.
The three models share the same port provision. On the right side, users obtain a microSD card location, two 3.2 Gen1 USB connectors type A, two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports with power delivery, a LAN port and a safety lock slit.
On the left side, there is another USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port, a microphone and a headphone combo, an HDMI output and a third type A Gen1 of 3.2 USB.
The three models support Wi-Fi 6th and Bluetooth 5.3 and are delivered with a 2MP webcam with a physical shutter for confidentiality.
Grouped software includes Microsoft 365 Basic and Office Home & Business 2024. Systems are offered in Nebula Black and Celeste Blue finishes.
No words on prices, but they should be sold in Japan in the coming months.
