- The Dyson V8 Cyclone is an improved version of the best -selling V8 Stick V8
- Offers 30% more suction and 50% longer than the original V8
- In the United Kingdom, the price is almost the same as the original: £ 349.99 (TBC of American prices)
Dyson has just launched a brand new flagship vacuum. It looks great and tons of cool and useful features. But in reality, I do not think that it is the void that most of us were waiting for, because it comes with an absurd price.
In the shock “Reading the Room” News, this series of launches sees Dyson innovating not only in the upper end of its range, but at the lower end, where normal people buy. Here is: the V8 Cyclone – an improved v8 stick void With 30% more suction and 50% longer, but (especially) the same price.
Although he launched Waaaay in 2016, the V8 remains the best -selling vacuum in Dyson. But because it has almost a decade, its specifications are quite poor quality compared to what you would get with the best wireless gaps on the market, which makes it difficult to recommend anyone other than pure and hard fans of Dyson with a budget. (The V8 has already had a refreshment, in the form of the V8 Advanced, which offered a little more suction than the original, but has never fully replaced the less powerful model of the Dyson range.)
The V8 Cyclone addresses many V8 gaps, making it a truly strong and affordable option – something that the brand’s range of vacuum cleaners has missed a lot. He does not have the fanciful characteristics of the best dyson vacuum cleaners, but prioritizes important bits and, depending on my practical time with him, is always an extremely competent cleanser.
The Dyson V8 Cyclone is capable of a maximum of 150 watts of suction air, compared to 115aw on the original V8. The head of the main ground has been upgraded to one that actively disasters the hair, so you do not end up with the disuse manually after each use.
The battery has had a boost and can now last up to a full hour on a single load, which is in accordance with what you get with many modern wireless vacations. I am also happy to see that the battery is now removable, which means that you can replace it if it starts to wear out, or even buy a backup for a hot exchange if you want longer cleaning sessions.
I am even happier to see what the V8 Cyclone removes with one of my biggest goals with Dyson Vacs: the trigger operation. Since the trigger operation is mainly to prolong execution times, and this is not so much a problem with the new updated battery, the V8 Cyclone lights up and goes out with a press button.
In this way, it is actually superior to the tastes of the more expensive the bar, except a much more advanced V15 detection. It is also much lighter than the more recent dyson vacuum cleaners and more comfortable to use for long periods and in portable mode. I am less overturned with the new “SCMY POND” color scheme (not the official name), but you cannot have everything.
What are you missing?
Aside from the color palette, there are a few additional compromises that you will make for the lower price. There is no automatic mode where suction is intelligently reproduced from top to bottom depending on things such as the type of soil or the dirt detected.
The V8 Cyclone is also not powerful that more recent models – it has 150AW suction, compared to 200AW on the V11 (the UP model) and 315AW on the brand new V16 piston animal in the range. However, it seemed a lot sucking during my practical time with (I will report more definitively once I had the chance to do appropriate and real tests).
Part of this is to do with the configuration with the fact. Here, the cup of dust, the engine and the cyclones are at right angles compared to the baguette, while with all the new Dyson stick vacuums, they are online. I asked the engineer of Dyson Steph Parker why they had decided not to present the online design with this upgrade, and she explained that it was too important a change.
“If you change the format, you change a huge amount of products,” she said. “If you think about where the filter is put on the product and how your air flow goes through the product …” She also told me that the V8 Cyclone was designed to be a versatile vacuum cleaner, but more focused on small houses with less pedestrian traffic.
Price and availability
In the United Kingdom, the Dyson V8 Cyclone will be available from September 17, 2025, at a list of £ 349.99 – only a little more than the V8 Advanced, at £ 329.99. I asked for prices and launched information for the United States and Australia, and I will update this article when I hear.
