A sweet earthquake struck the Federal capital Islamabad and several districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Thursday afternoon, which caused the fear and panic of the residents.
The tremors were felt in Peshawar, Batkhela, Takht Bhai, Lower Dir, Biner and Rustam and their surrounding areas.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the earthquake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale. He struck at 1:28 p.m. local time with a depth of 198 kilometers.
The epicenter was located in the border region between Afghanistan and Tadjikistan, in the Hindu mountain range in Kush.
A spokesperson for the province of disaster management (PDMA) said that no victim or material damage has been reported so far.
The PDMA said that its emergency operations center remained in contact with the province’s district administrations. It was invited to citizens to report any unfortunate incident on the emergency line 1700.
