Islamabad:
The Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP) expressed disappointment on Tuesday concerning the prolonged delay in the local Punjab local elections, summoned the secretary of the local government department of Punjab in person and has planned a complete bench hearing for October 8.
The election supervisor met under the chairmanship of the Chief Elections Sikandar Sultan Raja to examine the status of local authorities in Punjab.
During the meeting, the secretary of the PCE informed the Commission, declaring that the mandate of local governments in Punjab ended in 2021.
