Ed Sheeran and Chris Hemsworth face off: who won

Ed Sheeran and Chris Hemsworth gave fans something a little different to talk about ahead of the singer’s Australian tour, a tug-of-war and a surprisingly competitive match to boot.

Hemsworth, 42, posted a video to Instagram on Thursday, February 26, showing the two hanging out together and facing off in a battle of strength that was both entertaining and unexpected.

In the first round, it was Sheeran, 35, who came out on top, laughing throughout the match while a visibly tense Hemsworth struggled to hold on.

“Do it right. Keep going, keep going. He can’t,” Sheeran teased, pinning the Thor actor’s arm lowered.

Hemsworth got his revenge in the second round, beating Sheeran so convincingly that the singer began sliding out of his seat to try to resist.

The whole thing was born from a work of fan art.

Comic book artist Wayne Nichols has created an illustration of Sheeran taking on Hemsworth’s Marvel character Thor, Sheeran holding his guitar, Thor holding his hammer, which is expected to be on display at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne during Sheeran’s next series of shows.

The two celebrities then brought the artwork to life for fans, with the playful clip released just as Sheeran kicked off his Loop tour at Marvel Stadium on February 26.

It’s clearly a tour he’s been looking forward to.
