At least eight people were burned to death and several others injured when a passenger bus collided with a vehicle carrying Iranian oil on the CPEC national motorway in the Balutchistan Panjgur district on Saturday.
According to the police, the collision sparked a massive fire which swallowed the two vehicles. The accident was initially stated five lives, but the toll went to six after one of the wounded died before being transferred to the hospital. Later, two other victims injured by criticism died, which increased the number of deaths to eight.
Rescue officials said that bodies and injured had been immediately transported to Panjgur university hospital, where the treatment of survivors is underway. They confirmed that the rescue operation on the site was completed.
The police said that an investigation had been launched in the incident, adding that “the survival is considered to be the main cause of the accident”.

The tragedy has once again highlighted the serious challenges of road safety in Balutchistan, where the deterioration of infrastructure and poorly maintained vehicles frequently lead to fatal accidents. Residents and officials urged the administration to implement stricter security measures along CPEC road to prevent such incidents.

The rescue teams rushed to the site and moved the injured in neighboring hospitals for urgent medical treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out during the trip, causing panic and chaos among the passengers. Rescue staff managed to save several individuals thanks to a rapid action, but unfortunately, six people died of their injuries.
