Security forces killed eight terrorists in two separate operations across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.
Military media reported that the operations took place between January 12 and 13. The first operation was an intelligence-led raid in Tank district, where security forces successfully targeted a site of the banned group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), commonly known as the khwarij.
During the operation, six terrorists were killed, the ISPR said.
In a second engagement in Tirah Valley of Khyber district, security forces neutralized two more terrorists associated with the TTP.
The ISPR added that disinfection operations are underway in the area to eliminate all remaining militants. The security forces pledged to continue their efforts to eradicate terrorism and restore peace in the country.
Earlier, security forces killed 27 terrorists during an Intelligence Operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Kacchi district and destroyed huge caches of arms, ammunition and explosives, the Inter said on Monday -Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a press release.
The ISPR, the military’s media wing, said the IBO was conducted on Sunday on the reported presence of terrorists in the area. “Our own troops stealthily surrounded and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and after an intense exchange of fire, twenty-seven terrorists were sent to hell. »
According to the ISPR, several hideouts, including caches of arms, ammunition and explosives, were destroyed. “The slain terrorists were involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as innocent civilians and were highly sought after by law enforcement,” the statement added.
“Pakistan’s security forces, in sync with the nation, remain committed to thwarting attempts to sabotage peace, stability and progress in Balochistan.”
President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the security forces for eliminating terrorists during Operation Kacchi. They hailed the courage of the troops for defeating the nefarious designs of terrorists in Balochistan.
Zardari said in a statement that the courageous armed forces of Pakistan were carrying out operations aimed at completely eradicating terrorism. “The elimination of terrorists during the operations is a great achievement of the security forces,” he said.
In a separate statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked the officers and personnel of the security forces for the successful operation against the terrorists. He praised the professional capabilities of the officers and personnel of the security forces who killed 27 terrorists during the operations.
