- FromSoftware parent company says Night Reign of the Elder Ring DLC is in preparation
- Its release is planned before the end of the financial year (March 2026)
- There are no details yet, but it could be revealed at The Game Awards next month.
Kadokawa, parent company of developer FromSoftware, has officially confirmed that downloadable content (DLC) for Night Reign of the Elder Ring is in development at the studio, and it could be released sooner than you think.
In his latest earnings report, Kadokawa provided a brief update on several ongoing projects at FromSoftware, reestablishing that Bloods of Twilight And Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The former was a highlight of the first-ever Switch 2 Direct presentation, while the latter received a significant delay to next year for “performance adjustments.”
That aside, it looks like there will be more Night Reign of the Elder Ring goodness in the not too distant future: “FromSoftware is currently developing Night Reign of the Elder Ring DLC (anticipated release in FY2025),” reads a section of the earnings report.
We know that FromSoftware planned to complete Night Reign of the Elder Ring with post-launch content since its arrival in May. New modes and ways to play have been added via patches over the past few months, but it looks like this next DLC will be bigger; potentially even an expansion.
What’s important to note here is that the DLC is scheduled for the end of Kadokawa’s fiscal year, which is March 31, 2026. As such, it’s likely that we can expect a significant change. Night Reign of the Elder Ring content will drop in the coming months.
The Eager Nightfarers should potentially look ahead to the Game Awards, which will air live in about a month on December 11. Reign of the night was officially revealed at last year’s event, so there’s every chance an expansion will follow as part of this year’s announcements.
