The wife of Bruce Willis, Emma Heming, denounces the criticisms on the way she took care of the actor while he sails on frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
During the recent ABC special Emma and Bruce Willis: The unexpected trip with Diane SawyerHeming revealed that one of the most difficult choices she made was to move Willis, in a separate house of a floor, where he now lives with a full -time care team.
According to Daily mailShe explained that this decision had enabled their daughters Mabel and Evelyn to stay in a space more suited to their needs.
In this regard, she said: “Bruce would like this for our daughters”, while adding that the girls always visit their father regularly for meals and family time.
Following the broadcast, Heming shared on Instagram that she faced rewards rewarded by viewers on her care decisions.
In addition, she wrote: “Too often, caregivers are tried quickly and unfairly by those who have not lived this trip or held on the front line. Open sharing can invite opinions, but more importantly, this creates every day of connection and validation for those who really sail in the realities of care. ”
The British-American model also stressed the importance of raising awareness of dementia and supporting caregivers.
She noted that if some online answers were essential, many others came from first -hand experience that offered understanding and solidarity.
Meanwhile, Willis Tallulah’s daughter congratulated Heming in the comments, writing: “I love you so much. We love you so much. Thank you for everything you do for us and our family. ”
In addition, the Die hard Star fell from Hollywood in 2022 after receiving a diagnosis of aphasia, and in 2023, his family confirmed that the condition had progressed towards frontotemporal dementia.
Despite the challenges, Heming stressed that Willis remains in good physical health and that the family has found new ways to connect with him.
Regarding this, she said: “We have a way to communicate with him which is simply different. But I am grateful. I am grateful that my husband is still here. ”
