- Energybook Pro Ultra packs a 192Wh battery, the largest ever installed in a laptop
- Future Telecom requires up to 28 hours of use and a week in standby
- In 192Wh, the laptop unfortunately exceeds the aviation limits for luggage batteries
Energizer, better known for batteries and smartphones, is launching a new laptop that places endurance above all.
The Energybook Pro Ultra is delivered with a 192WH lithium-pole monobloc, which, according to the company, is the largest battery ever integrated into a laptop.
Avenir Telecom, the French company which designs and manufactures Energizer brand equipment, says that the new laptop can last up to 28 hours of regular office work, about 11 hours of play and graphic tasks. In standby mode, he could spend an entire week without needing to be billed.
Who will not steal
“With the Energybook Pro Ultra, we push the limits of what laptops look like. It is full of power, battery life and sustainability – faithful to Energizer’s DNA,” noted Julien Galou, marketing manager at Avenir Telecom.
The company is formed with regard to the packaging of large batteries in devices – in 2024, it deployed the Robust P28K smartphone from the hard housing with a huge battery of 28,000 mAh, promising a 122 -hour discussion time (about five days) and a day before 2,253 hours or a little more than three months.
Aside from the battery, the specifications of the Energybook Pro Ultra laptop are also decidedly average.
The system has an AMD Ryzen 5, 16 GB RAM processor, a 512 GB SSD NVME and an 18 -inch full HD + screen.
Connectivity includes USB-C, HDMI, USB 3.0, an SD card slot and a headphone jack.
The laptop will sell € 449 ($ 523) before taxes. No word on when or where it will be available.
A detail can however limit its audience. Aviation safety rules restrict lithium-ion batteries on flights to 100WH in hand luggage, some airlines granting up to 160 Wh with special approval.
In 192Wh, the EnergyBook Pro Ultra exceeds both limits, which makes it little likely to be authorized on most commercial flights (some airlines may not check, but it is worth being aware).
The Energybook Pro Ultra is part of a larger line, which also includes 15 and 18 -inch models with smaller batteries.
With the record size of the Ultra, Energizer has created a laptop that could find it difficult to keep its promise of mobility.
