The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) announced the calendar of two major Sikhs religious events that are held in Pakistan this month, despite the current tensions and the continuous suspension of the cross-border movement between India and Pakistan.
According to the official calendar, the anniversary of the death of Guru Arjan Dev Ji (Jor Mela) will be commemorated on June 16 in Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore. The birthday of Maharaja Ranjit Singh will be observed on June 29 in his Samadhi, also located in Lahore.
Sikhs from around the world, including India, were invited to attend. However, due to tense diplomatic links, India is unlikely to issue the required non-objection certificates (NOC) so that Indian pilgrims go to Pakistan, according to sources.
Pakistan has expressed its desire to facilitate cross -border pilgrimage. The ETPB has finalized all the arrangements necessary for potential arrivals, including security, accommodation and transport on the main religious sites.
If India grants travel authorizations, the first group of pilgrims should arrive on foot via the Wagah border on Monday, June 9. The group will start its pilgrimage to Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and visit Local Gurdwaras for a two -day stay.
The pilgrims will then go to Gurdwara Sacha Sauda in Farooqabad, followed by a visit to Hassan Abdal on June 11. They should stay in Gurdwara Panja Sahib on June 12 and should visit the Shrine Muslim Saint Baba Wali Qandhari.
On June 13, the group will go to Narowal to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, staying until June 14. They will go to Lahore via Gurdwara Rori Sahib in Eminabad on June 15.
The main religious ceremony of the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, including the Bhog Akhand Path Sahib ritual, will take place on June 16 in Gurdwara Dera Sahib. Pilgrims will stay in Lahore on June 17 and return to India via Wagah on June 18.
A second group of Indian pilgrims should arrive on Sunday June 22 for the birthday of the death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. They will start their visit to Nankana Sahib on June 23 before going to Hassan Abdal via Farooqabad on June 24.
The group will remain in Gurdwara Panja Sahib on June 25, will visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur on June 26 to 27 and will go to Lahore on June 28. The main ceremony of the Samadhi of Maharaja Ranjit Singh will take place on June 29, featuring the Bhog Akhand Tath Sahib.
The pilgrims will spend on June 30 in Lahore and will leave for India on July 1, 2025.
ETPB officials said all the arrangements have been made to ensure a safe, comfortable and fulfilling spiritually experience for pilgrims, subject to the Indian approval of cross -border travel.
